Rocket Ball was created by me, Gopala Krishnan, in 2003, inspired by my brother Satheesh, who was unable to play outdoor games due to a health condition. To keep him engaged, I arranged plastic bottles for him to throw a ball at. While he could occasionally knock them down, the bottles would topple over too easily, so I replaced them with a pole. When the ball struck the pole, it would rebound to the ground — and from that simple moment, the core concept of Rocket Ball was born. In the original rules, if the ball touched the ground after hitting the pole, the thrower earned 2 points, while catching the rebound earned the thrower earned team 4 points. Over the past decade, the game has evolved significantly, and today it has grown into a well-structured sport.

Over time, the game evolved into a structured sport with defined rules, scoring systems, and professional gameplay.

Each team consists of 10 players, with 5 active players on the field and 5 substitutes.

A Rocket Ball is made from leather or carbon material. It should not be slippery and must allow easy one-hand catching.

The Rocket Ball ground is 40 meters in total length. Each team occupies 20 meters of the ground, which is further divided into two sections of 10 meters each.

Goal post height is 7 feet with a 3-meter foul circle.
